The desire to photograph Carnival
in Venice, has been a dream of mine for many years. My wife, daughter, and
countless friends made that dream come true this year. Not only did we go
to carnival, we were able to participate.
To do this, Sue Ann, my wife,
set out to create an original costume in the traditional style of carnival.

After
months of planning and design, she spent approximately 150 hours, sewing over
30 yards of material and 60 feet of beads and other accessories. To complete
the costume, we went to mask artist Larry Wood of Kensington, MD to have him
create an original leather mask to fit the design. And finally, to add a more
grandiose appearance,we designed 12" platform shoes giving her a total
height of 7 feet 8 inches. Costume complete, we're off to Italy.
